4th Annual Taste of Downtown Hays

A sold out fourth annual Taste of Downtown Hays event took place on Tuesday, October 14 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. in the beautiful Chestnut Street District.

Ticket holders were treated to a sampling of cuisine from thirteen downtown businesses and voted Tea Rose Inn Bed & Breakfast as the “Most Tasteful Downtown Business.” Proprietor Rita Stramel served breakfast crepes, wine-poached pears and tea and is now the proud owner of the prestigious Golden Fork award.

Thank you to Nex-Tech and Nex-Tech Wireless for sponsoring this year’s event, to Mary Ann Thompson of the Hays Public Library and to members of the FHSU Comm. Club for working the event. Thank you also to Commerce Bank, Emprise Bank, First National Bank and the Hays Welcome Center for serving as ticket outlets and to all the participating businesses that made this event possible.

Kuhn’s Diamond Jewelers- Belgium waffles
Rooftops Restaurant & Lounge- bruschetta with tomato, basil & provolone cheese
Scrapbook Frenzy- Augustine’s Bakery’s famous cake
